Sassafras Festival
On behalf of the citizens of Burnettown, Mayor and Town Council, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the participants and visitors of the Sassafras Festival.
Over the past 10 years, I've seen the Festivaal grow from about 200 people to over 10,000. This growth and change has come from your ideas and suggestions. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the local business and individuals who have donated thier time, energy and financial support in order to help make the Sassafras Festival the success that it is today.
With your support, we are steadily striving to improve the Horse Creek / Midland Valley Area as well as the festival. We are always open to new ideas or suggestions on ways to enhance the area - and the festival. Working together we can make it happen, we can make those worthy dreams come true.
We've worked hard this past year in making improvements in the town and the festival. Besides our beautification projects, we have done work in the Sassafras Park, and are hopeful of building a new Community Center with Local Option Sales Tax monies in the future. This Center will benefit ALL in the Horse Creek / Midland Valley Area who wish to take advantage of it.
We're also pleased to say that Willie Whaley Park now officially belongs to Burrnettown and we will be working on improving it to benefit our young people.
The Sassafras Festival Committee and the Town of Burrnettown welcomes you.
